How to Style Baggy Snow Pants

Skiing in Max Reade Apparel snow pants.

Let’s be real. Baggy snow pants don’t always look good—unless you’ve got the rest of your kit dialed too. So here are some tips for getting that clean look with your baggy pants.

Jackets: Two Schools of Thought

  1. Go big or go home. Massive pants? Massive jacket? Check and check. Get that gangsta Henrik Harlaut look going. Don’t forget to throw a TallT underneath all that while you’re at it.
  2. The cinched waist fit. This one's been getting more popular with the kids lately. I call it the "smallish jacket that's cinched around the waist and somehow looks really dope." It's hard to explain, but the goal is to get that hourglass shape...kinda.

Here's where it gets tricky with the jackets:

  • Too much flop? You get a muffin top.
  • Too small? Don’t even want to picture that.

The key is finding a jacket that cinches just right. No muffin top. Just clean, stylish vibes. We are gonna drop a jacket that hopefully fulfills that criteria this year!

Other Clean Looks

  • Oversized hoodie: A classic. Not a year-round fit unless it’s waterproof (most waterproof hoodies are kinda ugly, but I think Oakley sells a cool one).
  • Balanced baggy:  Maybe you’re not the Baggiest MF on the Mountain™. That’s fine. Get some decently baggy pants and match ‘em with a decently baggy top. That’s clean too.

The Real Key: Color Matching

Skiing is fun for a lot of reasons. You’re flying down a mountain, sliding on rails, sending jumps—and you get to wear dope outfits while doing it. But beyond that, skiing is an art form. A form of self-expression. A dance.

To perform that dance, you gotta feel good. And to feel good, you gotta look good. That’s why your kit matters.

Choosing colors that represent you is like rocking a jersey for your home team. You’re proud of who you are, and the mountain is the perfect place to show it.

Exploring Fit Aesthetics

A pair of baggy snowpants (ski pants or snowboad pants) stand in front of a green square. they do not have a torsoe, but appear to be lifelike. the pants are black, with colorful embroidery around the pockets. green embroidery. there are two green snakes weaving in and out of each other, embroidered above the right pocket. The all-black fit is the default. It’s clean, and I’ve rocked it myself—it feels clean too. But going beyond all black adds personality.

  • Color splash: Black still your go-to? Try splashing in some color. We’ve got these pants called the Accent Snowpants—black base with detailed embroidery in different colors. They pair well with matching jackets or other black jackets that have color hits.
  • Black + purple: A timeless combo. Purple on black or black on purple—either way, it's fire.
  • Monochrome fits: Full red. Full purple. Full pink. If you do it right, these can be just as steezy as the all-black look. But you have to commit. Matching shades is critical—if the purple pants don’t match the purple jacket, it just looks... jank.
  • Earth tones: Subtle, stylish, and super popular right now. Real Tree camo (which I sell, by the way) is making a comeback. Army green pants are big if you’re trying to be the corest, heshest skier on the hill. I’ve never personally been drawn to the “core” look, but some people crush it. So yeah—we’ve got certified core apparel too.

Fits That Shouldn’t Work… But Do

Like the aviator hat with corduroy pants and a fleece hoodie. Super random. But then someone hits a k-fed with afterbang and it’s like… that was dope. He’s cool. I’m intimidated.

That’s the thing about skiing—it is intimidating. Not just because you’re sending flips off jumps and spinning onto rails, but because people in the park can be intimidating, not to mention the features themselves.

But here’s the truth: most people on the mountain are actually chill once you talk to them. We’re all here for the same reason—because skiing is a unique mix of freedom, creativity, effort, and community.

That’s why skiing is so fun. Because you’re having fun, progressing, and doing it with your friends. And looking dope while doing it? That’s just part of the game.
